Junior Art Show Winners
Published on 14th January 2000 in members and guestsThe great woodblock artist Hokusai inspired one young artist and perhaps Salvador Dali provided inspiration for another. The iconic Barwon Heads bridge featured in several as did watercraft, various animals and the local Ferris wheel – all done with great attention to detail and tremendous effort. It was delightful to see a beautifully coloured drawing of a young girl wearing a pretty dress with an ice cream in hand – what better way to represent this year’s theme: Barwon Heads.
It was lovely to see so many entries from ages ranging from five years old to 14 in the inaugural art show. Thank you to all entrants – you deserve a round of applause – as do the parents and grandparents who encouraged the children to express themselves through their art. We hope to see even more entries in 2023.
There are small prizes for the winners and runner-ups in both categories – the under 10s and over 10s. Prizes can be collected from reception.
The judges had a VERY difficult task choosing the winners. (We wonder if the subject might have swayed their votes…) Next year we hope to have everyone inside the Clubhouse and have a ‘people’s choice’ award also.
