Women’s Invitational Challenge 2022

Published on 18th August 2022 in members and guests

Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th August saw the hosting of one of the premier events on the women’s golfing program here at Barwon Heads, the seventh Women’s Invitational Challenge.

Sixteen teams competed over the two-day Stableford event. We hosted many of our Australian reciprocal clubs and all of our invited Victorian teams, but unfortunately there were no overseas visitors.

We had two new teams on the leaderboard this year, with Metropolitan Golf Club taking out the prized trophy for the first time with a score of 229 points, followed by Royal Perth as runners up on 226 points. The National ladies are regular visitors at the top of the ladder, this year finishing third with 221 points.

Lake Karrinyup team member – Shelia Klimczyk was the successful individual winner playing off a handicap of 23, with rounds of 35 points on both days.
