Courses ranked in the edition must be available for green fee play most of the year and includes public courses, resort courses and many private clubs which offer access to green fee players. Some clubs, such as Barwon Heads, may require an overnight stay in their accommodation in order to access the course at peak times.
The editors of the publication, recognise the subjective nature of rankings; theirs are weighted 40% on course design, 40% on course conditions and 20% on course aesthetics.
The 31st edition of the GOLF Course Guide (2025) will be available at the end of November.
