Please note

Renovations and restorations are currently underway on the heritage-listed Clubhouse, which will require the iconic 100-year-old building to close. During this period, accommodation will not be available, with the anticipated re-opening scheduled for late 2025. Guests with annual bookings will be contacted and provided with further information.

Golfers have been making use of the accommodation facilities within the iconic Barwon Heads Clubhouse since 1924.

Accommodation in the house is available for anyone*, but it’s fair to say the vast majority of our guests are golfers. There are 19 ensuite rooms available in single, twin or double bedding configuration and a variety of packages available that incorporate your stay with golf, meetings, dining and entertainment. Rooms are classified either ‘Standard’ or ‘Balcony’, the latter sharing access to a balcony that overlooks the course and the Barwon Coast.

Packages

A variety of accommodation options are available, from bed and breakfast to full board (including one round of golf, accommodation, cooked breakfast, lunch and three course a la carte dinner). We also offer special packages.

Golf and Tennis Facilities

One round of golf is included in your full board accommodation package. The Club has reserved tee times for house guests, (usually between 8.00 and 10.00am but subject to special events.) It is necessary that you contact the reservations team or the Pro Shop prior to your arrival to reserve a specific time for your included round of golf. Guests wishing to play more than one round of golf during their stay will be required to contact the Pro Shop eight days prior to day of play to check course availability and book a tee time. Charges for this second round will apply.

* Due to the weekly women’s competition on Tuesdays, tee times for house guests must be before 8.00am or from 1.00pm onwards.

In addition to our magnificent, nationally recognised course, the Club also has four mod grass tennis courts, a nine-hole Par-3 course and an extensive short game practice area.

Registration & Check-in

On most days the front desk is open between 8:00am and 5.00pm, on Sundays till 4.00pm, for guest registration. Guest rooms, however, are not available for check-in until 2.00pm. (You may store your luggage and use the change rooms if your tee time is prior to your room being available.) If you plan to arrive after 5.00pm, please contact the Club beforehand.

Check-out

Guests are required to vacate their rooms by 10.00am. If golf is planned on the final morning of your visit, please remove all items from the rooms prior to teeing off.

Payment

Guests are reminded that accounts are to be settled on departure. Accounts may be paid by MasterCard or Visa.

Re-booking

Many groups return annually and whenever possible are given first preference for re-booking the same days the following year. This must be done at the time of check-out.

Cancellations

Please note that cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date will incur a charge of $50.00 per person per night. This will be charged to your credit card or member account. Please note: Guests who do not arrive, or cancel on day of arrival, will be charged full tariff.

*The Clubhouse is not equipped to accommodate infants and guests who wish to stay with children are asked to call before booking. You may decide the Clubhouse is not the most appropriate choice if you’re holidaying with children.

When the Clubhouse Reopens

Green fee players wishing to guarantee course access during peak and more popular times (e.g. January, weekends, holidays etc. prior to competition times) can do so by staying in the Clubhouse and enjoying one of Australia’s greatest golf experiences.

“By staying you gain a status referred to by some as “honorary membership” giving you access to the facilities members enjoy and guaranteed tee times on most days of the year.”

Few clubhouses are as part of the golf experience as the one at The Barwon Heads Golf Club and for almost a century the Clubhouse has greeted visitors to the course and formed a backdrop for the finishing hole, so close it seems to be in play. It embodies the characteristics of the quintessential clubhouse, appearing stately in its setting, affording exceptional views of the course, and warmly housing the camaraderie of members and guests. An overnight stay in the Clubhouse combined with a round the following morning is the best way to experience links golf at Barwon Heads.

Most guests indulge in the full board package that includes dinner, breakfast the next morning, golf (18 holes) then lunch. There is also a bed and breakfast rate which entitles golfers to reduced green fees.

It is worth noting that from time to time there may be special accommodation packages including golf that offer attractive savings. E.g. During winter, Sunday-Thursday B&B packages include complimentary golf for up to two guests per room booked. Click here for more information.

Please keep in mind that players on the course and those entering the Clubhouse must dress in a manner in keeping with the Club’s course and Clubhouse dress code. After signing in as visitors, suitably attired green fee players are invited to dine in the Clubhouse Links Room either before or after their round. Breakfast is served from 7.00am to 9.00am (9.30am on weekends). Lunch and ‘all day’ snacks are served from 11.30am to 3.00pm. Please contact the Club at least 48 hours prior to your round if your group is interested in evening dining.
